Estimates are that over 50 percent of men will suffer from thinning hair during their lives and this is usually a result of inheriting the condition called androgenetic alopecia, or what is commonly known as male pattern baldness. There are 2 products approved by the FDA as baldness treatments for men and minoxidil is one of those products. But will minoxidil use reverse your thinning hair?

If you look on the internet you’ll find hundreds of baldness cures. But there are only 2, minoxidil and finasteride, that the FDA has approved for use by men to reverse thinning hair and for women minoxidil is the only treatment approved as a baldness treatment by the FDA.

Therefore it makes sense that these are the only products which can be sufficiently scientifically proven to reverse thinning hair in men. And minoxidil is the only product which has sufficient scientific proof that it will reverse thinning hair in women.

If any of the hundreds of other baldness cures advertised on the internet had sufficient scientific evidence behind it to prove to the satisfaction of the FDA that they work to reverse thinning hair you can bet the application would be made to the FDA as fast as possible. To get a baldness treatment successfully approved by the FDA could be likened to a licence to print money, and any company that was able to produce this evidence in support of their product would seek approval as fast as possible.

But whilst minoxidil is the only FDA approved treatment of thinning hair in both men and women, you do need to understand a few things about minoxidil use before you start using minoxidil to treat your baldness problem.

Obviously minoxidil works to reverse thinning hair or the FDA would not have approved it. But just because it is proven to work doesn’t mean that it works for everybody. Just as there are cancer treatments which are proven to work to treat cancer, they do not work for everybody, and it is not realistic to expect minoxidil to be any different. Do not expect that just because it works for others that it will also work for you, though of course there is a good chance that it will.

And secondly if you are considering using minoxidil you need to understand that even if it works for you the results take time to achieve and that you should be prepared to commit to using a product for at least 6 months, and preferably 12, before you can make a judgement about whether it is working for you. Otherwise you may find that you discontinue minoxidil use too early, and before it has started to work.

And the last thing to understand about using minoxidil for hair loss is that even if you have a successful result you will need to continue using minoxidil to maintain that result. If you discontinue minoxidil use all of the hair regrowth that you have achieved will gradually be lost again and your thinning hair will return.

Whilst minoxidil has been proven to work to reverse thinning hair in men and women, it has now been combined with a range of other essential hair nutrients to increase the chance that minoxidil will work for you. However you need to start using the product with realistic expectations.

If you understand these 3 things about using minoxidil, and you’re interested to find a new product which combines minoxidil with a range of essential hair nutrients you can find that product on my website.

It seems like many of us will try all sorts of measures to combat hair loss. Now science has found out that a variety of elements determine how much hair loss you will experience. Even if baldness is in your families genetics there are still things that can reduce or delay its effects. So what can you do to stop baldness in its tracks?

The first thing you can do is to keep a healthy surge of hormones flowing around your body. This can be achieved with modest tempo aerobic exercises. They should be performed regularly throughout the week. Your hair will sustain for much longer if you supply it with a healthy hormone balance.

Certain vitamins are also quite beneficial for your hair. Vitamin E is good for overall hair growth and condition and is said to counteract hair loss. As Vitamin E is an antioxidant is pushes more blood flow to the scalp area which provides increased levels of oxygen. This turn provides more nutrients for the hair follicles and causes strong healthy hair to grow and restore itself.

A number of herbs are also thought to be beneficial in promoting hair growth and restoration. But what if the tide of Mother Nature is against you and nutrients alone will not turn the situation around? There are professional hair regrowth treatments. These are run by specialist hair clinics. The procedure may involve a number of combined therapies.

Hair regrowth treatments usually perform a mixture of detoxification, laser light, diet and hair product therapies. You may also be asked to complete part of the program at home, and come in for more treatments at regular intervals. There are low powered laser comb devices on the market and you may have to use this, with a diet and exercise plan at home between visits to the clinic.

Do hair regrowth treatments work? Well the good thing about taking part in a clinic environment is that you are under constant observation. If it needs be, your treatment can be adjusted. You have probably seen laser hair combs advertised everywhere, but these don’t address all the hair restoration issues. Not everyone will experience hair regrowth, but some will improve the quality of the hair they still have, and can cause it to stick around that little bit longer.

Hopefully this hair regrowth treatment article informative. You can learn about hair restoration techniques on my website.
